JAMB Direct Entry Registration

What is the Date for JAMB Direct Entry Registration 2021?

JAMB (Joint Admission and Matriculation Board) has declared that the registration period for the 2021 JAMB UTME DE will run from April 8 to May 15.

Is it Necessary to Write JAMB for direct entry?

You do not need to write JAMB UTME if you are applying for Direct Entry. To be eligible for entry, you must have an OND or HND, Cambridge A level, or JUPEB result. To process your admission, you must purchase a Direct Entry form from JAMB.

To put it another way, the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) is a test that applicants for 100-level admissions take. DE applicants who wish to apply for 200-level admissions instead are not expected to take the JAMB exams.

Is it possible to Write JAMB and collect JAMB DE at the same time?

Yes, Candidates can write JAMB and collect DE forms at the same time. The board has not passed any legislation banning DE candidates from obtaining UTME forms.

The board has valuable information to share with DE candidates. “Applicants will now “consider upgrading” their UTME forms to Direct Entry forms instead of buying both if they have the same credentials for Direct Entry Admission into either of the universities,” it says.

Is it possible to use Awaiting Result for DE?

This is dependent on your preferred university and the admissions window. Some universities welcome students who are awaiting results, while others do not. However, if the DE registration form hasn’t closed, most schools will still accept awaiting results.

It is possible to buy a direct entry form and fill it out while waiting for the results, but you must have the results before the registration deadline for the school of your choosing.

What Are The Advantages Of JAMB Direct Entry?

Those who were accepted to their preferred university through direct entry will begin their studies in year 2 or 200 level, assuming they are offered admission. This gives them an advantage over their UTME competitors.

Do Direct Entry Students Have to Complete a Post-UTME Exam?

The response is not certain, depending on which school you attend. DE candidates are not required to write a post-UTME at schools such as UI, UNILAG, and others, while schools such as FUTA require DE candidates to write a post-UTME. The easiest thing to do is look up the school’s previous admission year to see whether you’ll be writing the PUTME or not.

You may, for example, look up ABU Zaria direct entry registration and exam dates to see if the school holds a PUTME for DE applicants.

What is the cost of the JAMB UTME Direct-Entry Form?

According to the Joint Admission Matriculation Board (JAMB), the Direct Entry form costs N3,500 this year, and JAMB requires all direct entry candidates to purchase “The Last Days at Forcados Secondary School,”  textbook that costs N500 (Five Hundred Naira Only), so if you want to apply for JAMB 2021 direct entry, you will need to budget N4,000.

JAMB 2021 UTME Direct Entry Requirement

Passes in two major subjects with S.C.E., NTC/NBC credits, or equivalents in THREE other subjects (mainly for Education Courses) and ND in the NCE. Education may be admitted as a third A’ Level subject if it has a minimum credit grade of C in the National Diploma or National Innovation Diploma and meets the O’Level criteria.
