A good number of roads have been started, some abandoned ones completed and some rehabilitated under three basic funding avenues namely, Presidential Infrastructure Development Fund (PIDF), the N100Billion SUKUK Bond and normal budgetary allocations.

Presidential Infrastructure Development Fund (PIDF) – US$ 650 million

  • Lagos-Ibadan expressway
  • Abuja-Kaduna-Kano expressway
  • Second Niger Bridge

Sukuk Bond – N100 Billion Naira

25 Roads being funded by the Bond Examples of some of those roads (one in each of the Six Geopolitical Zones) are:

North East

  • Dualisation of Kano-Maiduguri Road linking Kano-Jigawa-Bauchi-Yobe-Borno State.
  • Section IV (Potiskum-Damaturu road) in Yobe.

North West
Construction of Kaduna Eastern Bypass

North Central
Dualisation of Suleja-Minna Road in Niger State Phase II

South West
Dualisation of Ibadan-Ilorin Road. Section II: Oyo-Ogbomoso Road in Oyo

South East
Rehabilitation of Enugu-Port Harcourt Road Section III: Enugu-Lokpanta

South South
Dualisation of Yenegoa Road Junction – Kolo
